language rights, accommodation rights, and more. We believe in the right to freedom, choice, and equality for all. We want everyone to understand that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities must be respected as People First.
Self-advocacy happens when we stand up for our needs when they are not being met. Presenting our problems and asking for the solutions we need to make things better is so important. At BCPF we advocate for the rights of our Members and we help each other learn self-advocacy skills.
Signup as a BCPF Member to help stop ableism in our society. Members have a say in our advocacy efforts! Groups and schools can book us for presentations about human rights and the power of language. Organizations can commission us for Plain Language Translation services and support.
