Let's Rally for Accessibility Celebration & Awareness

We aim for a vibrant and peaceful accessibility rally in the heart of the city, celebrating diversity and fostering connection among disabled individuals and organizations who serve people with disabilities. With engaging guest presenters, this event aims to create a supportive community and raise awareness about the importance of accessibility in all its forms.

Physical, communication, information, attitudinal, technological, transportation, policy, economic, environmental, cultural, social, systemic…there are so many accessibility barriers out there that affect people in so many ways. Coming together on November 8th to unite our voices is a powerful way to raise awareness.

Members of organizations within the human rights sector from across BC will share about the successes and challenges of accessibility within our communities. And will share reasons why accessibility is so important. All community members are welcome to attend the rally to learn more about accessibility or show support as an ally.

Accessibility is inclusion!

Bring an umbrella...bring a folding chair...bring your lunch...bring a poster sign...come and stay a while. Show your support of accessibility rights or come to learn more about it!

November 8th 12pm-2pm on Georgia Street in front of the Art Gallery. 

This is an outdoor event.

The event will go as planned if the weather is okay, even light rain if it is warm enough out. But we are hoping for sunny or cloudy weather! We can post at the top of this event page on event day if it has to be cancelled because of the weather.

Dress for the weather.

You don't have to RSVP for this event, but if we need to cancel the event because of really bad weather we will email everyone who RSVP'd. And we will send out an event reminder a few days before as well.

Do you or your organization have a message to share about accessibility and why it matters? Get on the presenter list schedule for this community rally event.

Please email us at hello@bcpeoplefirst.com to sign up as a presenter and share your accessibility message at the rally. We will aim to have an open mic at then end as well. Scheduled speakers have 5-10 minutes to share about accessibility. We want to learn about many different types of accessibility, and successes you have had with accessibility accommodations, and things that are needed to make accessibility better in our community.
